About Vandana Shiva

Vandana Shiva is one of the most influential international voices for ecological justice, biodiversity and women's rights. As a scientist, agroecologist and activist, she shaped the anti-globalisation movement and co-founded Navdanya an initiative that has an impact far beyond India. Navdanya is a regenerative farm, a place of education and a movement - connected to the earth, women-centred and supported by farmers. The aim is to protect seeds, cultures and communities in the sense of an „earth democracy“ that considers people and nature as inseparable.

Shiva's wise path combines resistance against exploitative agribusinesses with the development of concrete alternatives. Through her work, she has mobilised hundreds of thousands in India and inspired millions worldwide. Whether as an eco-feminist, seed guardian or globalisation critic, Vandana Shiva embodies the conviction that regenerative agriculture and cultural diversity form the basis of a just and sustainable future.
