About Vandana Shiva
Vandana Shiva is one of the most influential international voices for ecological justice, biodiversity and women's rights. As a scientist, agroecologist and activist, she shaped the anti-globalisation movement and founded Navdanya an initiative that has had an impact far beyond India. Navdanya is a regenerative farm, educational centre and movement – grounded, women-centred and supported by farmers. Its goal is to protect seeds, cultures and communities in the spirit of an „earth democracy“ that considers humans and nature to be inseparable.
Shiva's wise approach combines resistance to exploitative agribusinesses with the development of concrete alternatives. Through her work, she has mobilised hundreds of thousands of people in India and inspired millions worldwide. Whether as an ecofeminist, seed guardian or critic of globalisation, Vandana Shiva embodies the conviction that regenerative agriculture and cultural diversity form the basis of a just and sustainable future.
