The Barna Way
About "The Barna Way"
The Barna Way is an ecological and social art project, organic farm and woodland area near Ballybunion in County Kerry. Led by photographer Rena Blake and artist Lisa Fingleton, the project combines art, agriculture and community.
Their wise approach is to combine regenerative agriculture with social participation. For over 15 years, they have been implementing sustainable solutions – from organic vegetable cultivation and bee protection to the maintenance of flower meadows and habitats for biodiversity. In 2020, more than 10,000 native trees were planted, supported by Greenbelt, Supervalu and the Native Irish Woodland Scheme.
As ambassadors for Farming for Nature Rena and Lisa pass on their knowledge and design creative climate projects such as Brilliant Ballybunion. Through workshops on biodiversity, food security and local visions for the future, they demonstrate how global challenges can be translated into concrete, local solutions.
The Barna Way invites artists, volunteers and learners to join forces in pursuing regenerative paths and bringing co-creation for a sustainable future to life.
